    Mary Shelley: Frankenstein

Oh, how very thought provoking. I never thought of it like that before. I studied Frankenstein for A level English Lit. and remember loving it. It was just such a new idea to me at the time (and still would be, as I haven't read very much science fiction since). I totally agree that Victor...

Where are you? (in the book you are reading) - please read 1st post

Is that a joke? I haven't read that... but oh no, I wasn't reading that. I'm not going to even admit what I was reading. I'm now back in Dublin. It's most comfortable here.

Poll: How old is the average reader on this Forum?

What a lovely thread, it's brilliant to see such a range of people on this forum, and age is only one of the variables. I'm 27, and started reading when I was very young, I can't remember a time before reading. I read constantly as a child, first Enid Blyton, then 'scary' stuff, then the...

    Horse Racing

I think horse racing is boring (but used to work in a bookie's, which is a fun job). What was the poll going to be about?

do you keep track of the books you read?

I always mean to, and I do, to a certain extent, but things get missed off, then I wonder what the point is. Incidentally, I haven't read anything for a couple of months anyway, which also makes me not all that bothered about keeping a log. I log them at another forum, these days.

    Better smilies

I think smilies should be banned altogether. I use them, but usually because they're there and sometimes it can be seen as rude to say anything on a forum, without putting a 'wink' or something, to soften it. :) But I'm a hypocrite, anyway.

Great, sparky. Oh, and garlic bread? Can't have pizza without garlic bread. C - because they are hideous things, urgh. And I just shuddered to prove it.
