My uncle breeds sheep and goats and yes, I like them too. :-) Alive and on my plate - of course. :D
It reminds me, I've been kissed by a goat when I was about three years old and I didn't like it very much at that time. Daddy has it all on VCR. LOL
Hi di ho !
No, there isn't a particular order. Her books aren't any kind of series or so.
I read '19 Minutes' on the flight to Germany a few months ago and overall liked it. Not the story itself but the thoughts it provoked. I guess all her books are like this but overall I heard some are...
True, it sounds really stupid to me. But that's school. I think, especially in the USA, yeah US parents like to make a fuss out of everything (not judgemental, just my observation), where schools and teachers sit in a hot seat.
The parents are a different thing and I truly believe that they...
I can't see anything wrong with it either. It's an recommendation not a rule that says children under (or above) the recommended age aren't allowed to read it.
Hm, I don't have children so I don't know how it feels to worry about what my kid reads. From my point of perspective I would allow a kid to read what it wants. There comes a time in life when the children books aren't fulfilling any more. At least not all the time.
When I was around 10 or 11...
I thought it would be a nice idea to know who of you guys belongs to which book trading site and under what nickname. I really would be interested in browsing your bookshelf and find something new for me.
I am registered at Paperbackswap, Titletrader and Swaptree.
So I will begin...
Yes I saw that but it wasn't interesting for me in the first place. I'm ordering most of my non-english books from Germany because they are the only once I could find that won't charge shipping cost for oversea shipping. :-) For me that's the best solution. It's sometimes hard to keep on track...
It depends. I rarely can resist non-fiction/historical books about England or Greece, especially Myths, Gods, Kings and Queens.
So yes, once in a while I read them and once in a while they don't have anything to do with the above. It really depends on the topic. The last non-fiction I read was...
Libra, did you try the greek communities in your area. I read a lot of greek books and was able to find some really good ones there. Not only translated but also from Greek authors.
We just had a greek festival here in San Jose and they sold quite a few books to me. :D
I liked it because it made me laugh. Literally, King used some writing skills that weren't used by him before and completely surprised me. :)
Overall I remember the plot as partly a bit stretched but not boring. If I remember correctly it's not a thin book. :-)
I don't really care so I voted in favor of those who want them.
(Disclaimer: I'm perfectly aware that vBulletin offers the possibility to limit the number of used img-tags in each post.)
I might be a good idea to split a book into chapters. Say 1-5 and so on. This way people are able to read the book at their pace without being spoiled by users that already read the whole book or are far ahead.
I think a chapterwise discussion makes a lot more sense than one thread where...
I absolutely hate the mexican ufta-music they often play in their cars. Of course way to loud. That's not music.
However, I think the matching genre for this kind of "music" is folk ?
"My brother was already dead!" Clifton Thackeray made some outrageous claims while he was being held in a Fort Collins lockup on suspicion of involvement in a truly bizarre and grizzly murder.
Monster Nation by David Wellington
What's wrong with hotlinking ? There are a lot of free smilies webpages even offering the direct img-tag for copy and paste. Not that I would mind about the smilies.
What we do in the German forum is as follows:
There are more then one group active. So basically every group suggest a few books three months in advance and the members choose. Groupmembers jump from one group to another if they prefer or don't like the suggestions made.
This way we have a...
