I know someone with a phobia and it's not funny at all to see her go into shock. Everything has it's shady side. When she sees a bird she nearly faints and you know how many birds are out there.
1) One Book that made you read it More Than Once: Susan Howatch - Wheel of Fortune, read it around 10 times.
2) One book you would want on a desert island: Susan Howatch - Wheel of Fortune

Actually I think D. Craig is just fine. :-)
My friend lately said she would like Grissom from CSI doing the Bond job. I almost spilled my coffee on the desk. :D
Steve Alten - The Shell Game
Very political, very disturbing and almost written like it's more truth than fiction.
Against a lot of reviews I liked John Grisham's "The Appeal" as well.
I'm not a Sci-Fi reader except for the Voyager series but one book I will never forget is Andreas Eschbach's "Quest":
"The Empire of Gheera is doomed to be destroyed. The Pantap's defense forces have no chance against the powerful legions of the legendary Star Emperor, whose hunger for power...
Maybe I'm wrong but I took a short look into this webpage and their prices seem a bit, well, off the chart compared to the U.S. pricing.
I've been in the U.K. three weeks ago and bougth the new Mo Hayder. I paid almost $24 for a paperback in a regular bookstore.
Sorry, but I'll stick to...
I make up my list month to month, anything else wouldn't bring me much further. My pile's up to 800 something unread books. :D
That's my Feb. list but I certainly won't make it through all of them. :D
The River Killings by Merry Jones *read*
Victim by Gayle Wilson *read*
Taken by Thomas Cook...
.. which had been made into a tv movie sometime in the 90's.
However, here's the plot:
A sadistic killer catches young, beautiful women, kills them and poses them at different places, sitting and looking like a antique doll.
While the investigation is running the investigation woman...
I didn´t vote because I´ve read only one book from this list.
What´s the sense of a voting like this if you haven´t read all books to decide which one was the one your preferred ? ?
I can´t really say too much to this book. I´ve read it when I was a teenager and thats over 15 years ago. However, I remember me, reading it in a few days besides scholl and thought it was great. But then I think maybe I should reread again to say anything at all.
I usually use Amazon or B&N - if I plan to keep the book in my shelf.
If it´s just for the read, I try to swap trade my books at titletrader.com or, paperbackswap.com. That´s a cheap way and once in a while you really can get some treasures. :o
