I might add that self-published books are a turn off for a lot of publishers. At least that's how it is handled in Europe. Once you've gone the non-traditional route you're done for the most part except you're coming up with a bestseller right away which is rather unlikely. I'd never recommend...
I like the website as well. Especially because a lot of authors don't have a website and if you're trying to figure out the right order of a book series Fantastic Fiction is my first choice to look for it.
I began reading Graham Masterton's Descendant last night and what can I say ? If it weren't for an early appointment with the doctor I would have read the whole night. Some great new twist to the strigoi mythos.
This is probably the creepiest one I've ever heard about. Dr. Henry Howard Holmes.
He confessed to 27 murders but is suspected to be the murderer of over 200 people. As far as I know he's Americas first documented serial killer and was hanged in 1896.

There is a book about the Kissel murders. Mainly about the developments in Nancy and Robert's marriage, their life in Hong Kong and how she began to poison him.

Oh, I read this one quite a while ago. It is good and very interesting but needs to be read with further research as some of the techniques don't verify what P. C. claims: That W. Sickert was Jack The Ripper.

I absolutely disagree on that.
Just because someone "invented" something I don't have to read or use it.
Developing a genre is just that. Nothing more. There are a lot more true crime stories which are way better researched or detailed.
Plus the story itself is for todays criminal studies...
I didn't like Capote's book nor did I like the movie so I wouldn't consider it to be a must read.
I agree on Helter Skelter and might add that the Green River Killer might be a goob subject as well.
