    15-year-old lands memoir deal

True, but that's the point here: she's not writing about an extensive life, she's writing about what's expected of her as someone with no life experience of her own.

    15-year-old lands memoir deal

...sounds ridiculous, right? But the idea here seems interesting, I think: http://www.mediabistro.com/galleycat/15-year-old-lands-book-deal-for-memoir_b73043 As a look at how things have changed for those growing up now as opposed to in the 50s, it might actually be a worthwhile book...

Alain de Botton: Religion for Atheists

    Franz Kafka

Nope. (And the "Is X overrated?" question remains just as stupid as ever.) But from what I read of that article before my eyes glazed over, it seems to argue more that Kafka experts are overrated.

Alain de Botton: Religion for Atheists

I don't have a problem with atheist philosophers per se. There's nothing in philosophy that requires one to be religious. I do have a huge problem with this particular philosopher, though.

    Uncovering Our Earliest Ancestor

I thought this was neat: Earliest human footprints found in Kenya Scientists digging in a Kenyan desert have found what they believe to be the oldest humanlike footprints. Several individuals laid them down 1.5 million years ago in what was a muddy track. "The prints match a men's shoe...
