It's not my usual reading fare. but I have been branching out lately and I was intrigued by reviews I read on amazon.

The truth is no, Terry Brooks is not that good of a writer. But, his books are quick and formulaic reads, and sometimes that is just what my overworked brain needs. ;)
I agree with Isabell.
Rap drives me crazy, especially when half the time the song is only popular because it is sampling another tune that was not a rap song.
I love Mark Helprin's writing! Right now, he is my favorite author. I have read both Winter's Tale and The Pacific and Other Stories. I think you would enjoy either one. I do have to say, though, that his short stories are often so beautiful and/or sad, they make you cry, so it was difficult for...
I am generally a very fast reader, but I try to pace myself, because I miss things when I read too fast.
I find that I often don't grasp all the meaning when I read a book only once, but the second time through everything will fall into place. It is strange, because usually the second time...
