    Fascinating scientific stuff

This quote from the comments on the attached article cracked me up: "Things like this make me nervous. What if the radiation on the surface of Jupiter's moon contaminates the landers and they bring the radiation back home :X. "

Your Roche Limit anthem as it shall now be known is awesome. Is it just me, or are its lyrics quite melancholy whilst also managing to be upbeat in rhythm?

    Koushun Takami: Battle Royale

The movie is fierce; I found it to be very disturbing indeed. It's a good film, don't get me wrong, with excellent cast and performances. It's the excellent performances that make everything seem so realistic and thus distressing.

    When fiction dissolves...

I have found this to be very much the case. I still love, and will always love fiction, but non-fiction titles definitely pull me in with much greater ease than they used to.

I have not heard of him, no. I shall investigate however. I couldn't sleep, and read an article about a catalogue of planets being set up that might harbour life similar to that on Earth. Habitable Exoplanets Catalogue ranks alien worlds on suitability for life | Science | The Guardian Then...

    American Horror Story

Seeing all the chit chat going on about this show I just bought the first ep off of iTunes and gave it a watch. I quite enjoyed it. Clever use of the uncanny, like the non-jumpy/non-overly dramatic sense of fear going on in it. Will hopefully watch the second ep soonish...

Ah yes I've heard of Trentemøller. He was recommended to me by some Dutch friends who knew I enjoyed electronic music. I've enjoyed those tracks of his which I've heard. You've reminded me actually I need to pick up one of his CDs - maybe put that on my Xmas list :whistling: I think he...

Suggestions: February 2012 BOTM - Romance

Another excellent romance is the novel Twilight by U.S. author Stephenie Meyer. This fitting tribute to the gothic-romance novel's of old fuses the soul of that genre whilst adding a modern-day supernatural twist. And for those who just can't get enough from just Twilight, there're also...
