I started with this book a few months ago but somehow I couldn't finish it. I just couldn't cope with the notation.
Anyway imo this issue is really important and the different perceptions are interesting.
By the way of course I've read it in the original language German.
I don't read magazines at home unless my parents buy some. Then I run over the pages. Or sometimes I buy a magazine when I'm bored and have to wait for my train or something. Then I usually buy "NEON", "Stern" or "Der Spiegel".
In school we read and translate articles of The Economist, New York...
Austen, Jane - Pride and Prejudice
Capella, Antonia - Amore, amore!
Chang, Jung - Wilde Schwäne
Cook, Thomas H. - Das Gift des Zweifels
Dickens, Charles - Ein Weihnachtsmärchen
Dickens, Charles - Best Ghost Stories
Diverse - Das große Buch der skandinavischen Weihnachtsgeschichten...
I'm 20 years old and I started reading just when I was able to read, think at the age of 7 or so.
Before my mum read to me. Thought that this would be usual, but I don't think it's natural anymore. Sad.
IMO it it really important to begin sparking interest in reading at a young age. Children...
I prefer paperbacks because they're cheaper.
I still go to school and can't afford those hardcovers unless I can buy them at a flea market for less money or I get them as a present.
Besides, paperbacks are easier to take along into the train when I go to school.
Ich erinnere mich noch genau an den Morgen, an dem mich mein Vater zum ersten Mal zum Friedhof der vergessenen Bücher mitnahm.
[Carlos Ruiz Zafón: Der Schatten des Windes]
You're right.
Though I can't see anything good looking in her. Maybe it's because I'm a woman as well.
Lots of people don't understand that content of a song is much more important than appearance. That's why actually so much bad singers are successful. Sad but true.
IMO Her first album was okay even though I never really listened to it.
Think her latest is really bad. I don't like this bad girl style she's trying to follow. Also hate the song Mandi-chan mentioned, "Girlfriend".
I think her only OK songs are rock ballads.
In Germany, however, she is popular...
Actually I've never been to Holland but I like it. I really would like to go there one day.
In March I flew above Amsterdam in direction of South Africa and it looked really nice with the sea, the waterways and all the cute houses :)
