Welcome to Andy from Social Knowledge LLC

Now that vBulletin 3.7 has gone Gold, will the forum be getting upgraded in the near future. I, for one, can't wait to see this place with thread tagging and extra anti-spam facilities.

    Pictures!!

If you are going to post a series of huge photographs, can you just link to them instead, please? Some extend the page due to their size and even on broadband they took a bit to download.

Welcome to Andy from Social Knowledge LLC

Not a problem. Indeed, I don't know how long you've been doing it. Let's just put it down to me having invested four years here and I'm curious at the whole 'new management' thing. That, and my knowledge of many web topics. (Did Darren forget to ay I'm a handful. :p)

    Absolute Page Turners Wanted!!!

Much as I would like to laugh at any suggestion of Dan Brown being anything, I have to concede that his books - well, the one book I persevered with - can be page turners due to the sheer volume of cliffhangers due to short chapters. Welcome to Andy from Social Knowledge LLC

As one of those passionate people I hope that my passion won't be rudely interrupted by a host of obtrusive ads. In a way, I welcome this change. But I would like to see the forum have a real identity. Currently, with the basic vBulletin template, it doesn't have that. And looking over other...

June 2008 - Book Group Suggestions

Is there enough mileage in it for a proper discussion? As I understand it the book, while being revered, is little more thn two men meeting. I'm probably wrong though.

    choosing BOM

Since we only revived the thing a few days before this month, I suppose it's to be expected . But now that May's book is chosen we can start taking nominations for June, I suppose, and start to get ahead of ourself. (And I checked on Amazon.ca Marketplace and saw a copy available for a couple...

    Robert Graves: I, Claudius

Some books I do hate, more for being crap than anything else, but I had high hopes for I, Claudius and it disappointed. Getting through pages was a struggle. To be fair, I doubt I had enough understanding of its context and will return to it one day. But for just now, I hated every minute of...

    Robert Graves: I, Claudius

I was sent this at random by Penguin UK last year as part of their 'Blog a Penguin Classic' promotion. I only got about fifty pages in but they were a plod and I gave up there, hating the book.

Best dark, potentially sexual and/or violent books?

They asked to have the post deleted. I wasn't doing that. The least I could do was remvoe them and keep the thread going. Hence some jiggery pokery.

Your'e joking? You mean ethics aren't religious? :D Good, now the world can drop the relgious charades and get on with being better people.

    New Look

It does make sense, in a way. On my forum I've made it a week. But I've seen people come back on another forum and start working through their posts one after the other, just leaving a string of.................. with no idea what was said.

    On Drawing The Line
