Though I have not read any of the series, I too am waiting for "A Feast of Crows". Though I am disappointed that the cover art work is changing. Not that I like the old style better. I just like consistancy. But I am sure that is the only complaint many will have. ;)
By the way, I...
I disagree with you there. That has helped me get to know others on other forums. On the other hand I do understand you disdain for what seems like petty topics. I personally think that a thread about farting or one about someone being gone from the forum for a few days are not needed. Those...
Well, I voted and keep viewing the thread. I didn't post, because I am rather new here, and I like to stay out of these types of things.
I am a founder and moderator of a forum. I have seen these types of things before, but thankfully on a smaller level. When we didn't have a "General...
I have read two band biographies; Pink Floyd's "Saucerful of Secrets" and one on U2 that took it up to "The Joshua Tree", and I can't remember the name of it. I enjoyed both, because I liked both bands and they were informative. But I think the U2 bio was more interesting.
I got a link from within the site for some software to track book collections. It says it supports a barcode scanner. Does anyone have any suggestions on a particular brand or model that is good, yet inexpensive? I have seen far many more then I expected while browsing the internet.
I was just complaining about this on my blog a few weeks ago. Though I was more upset at how Hollywood has been remaking films. I said that it was probably better to do movie versions of books instead, because at least they are giving audiences something new/original. But then I got to...
Yes I do remember that game, and eventually shut it off before it was over. It's a good point, and I don't argue it. I just HATE shootout and wish there was a better alternative.
Another good point. But what, 70% of the time the goalie wasn't in a position to be hit? And the two guys you...
Good point. And I for one wouldn't mind seeing them able to play the puck outside the crease and be fair game. Heck, they wear more pads then anyone else. I should know. I have played goalie before.
That's what the playoffs are for. ;) I can understand the desire to get rid of the...
Thanks for the welcome everyone.
Glad to see everyone agrees that my dog is a golden retriever. After all if he wasn't, then we would have to change his name. (I could always dye his hair blue and call him Labatt.) :D
And yes, CDA, dogs are weird. And mine ranks up there with some of...
OK, Motokid brought me into this. :D
I am a Red Wings fan, through and through. And no, not because they have been so good as of late. I started watching these guys back in 1977 when they played as if they belonged in the IHL. But along with Motokid, I have found a soft spot for the...
I think you nailed it right there. That is a great description of the feeling at the end, and was what I liked about this book. I saw the movie about two weeks later and thought it was well done.
Glad to see that I am not the only won with a love-hate relationship with this book. I loved the "Navidson Report" part and literally stopped reading the "Johnny Truant" part.
I really liked the "documentary" feel of this and the idea of a movie being made of it. It gave it a scary-thriller...
I almost picked this up yesterday. The problem was that I ruined it already for myself by seeing the movie. (And the books is ALWAYS better ..... well except for "Field of Dreams"). Do those of you that read this, is there still something to get out of the book even after seeing the movie?
Almost forgot. One of the first posts, someone said that Gaiman gave it praise so it should be good. I try not to take those things into account. I love Gaiman's work, or what I have read. But I heard him praise Gene Wolfe's "The Wizard Knight" and bought both books based on that and what...
