Poll: How old is the average reader on this Forum?

I'm fairly young (17). I've been reading for fun since I was around 13, and I rest assured I will have more time for reading once I'm out of high school and college after that. Right now, school is kind of making it hard to finish too many books outside of required reading.

Besides Reading what other hobbies do you have????

I love music. I play guitar, go to shows, festivals, jam with my friends, and listen to it all the time. I also love the outdoors. I kayak, camp, hunt, fish, hike, play sports (such as ultimate frisbee, disc golf, baseball, soccer), etc. I would prefer outdoors over indoors any day. I...

    Last seen...

I saw Apocalypto the other night and thought it was pretty good. It got pretty intense there for the last half of the movie, and I have a new appreciation for the Mayan culture. Mel Gibson has one again done a good job elaborating on another time period and culture.

    John Grisham

At the moment I'm on my first Grisham book, A Painted House. I've read 230 pages in 2 days if that tells you anything about how I've been hooked in. I'm very interested to see how it comes out. After I finish it, I'll probably look into some of his other stuff. I've never really read a...

Do you play a musical instrument?

I play guitar, a little bass, and some trombone(I played it in band and have since quit). I really want to learn some more instruments though. Piano would be cool. Also learning some mandolin or banjo would be pretty nice.

    Books you didn't finish

For school I never finished The Once and Future King. It was way too intimidating and I waited too long. Plus I'm not too into the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre. I also never finished Jane Eyre. I just couldn't get into that one. Girls would probably get into it better. I'm too much of a...

    Buy books?

I usually buy from Borders or Barnes and Noble. I rarely buy online though. Other than buying, I borrow or find some around the house. Buying them all the time is too expensive. I should probably start looking around for cheaper prices or libraries.

What do you use as a bookmark?

I use random things. My latest one was the sticker from the book cover. Otherwise, I use the nearest piece of paper. Sometimes I just don't feel like using one and at all and I just remember the page number or what chapter I'm on. I rarely fold the page corners though because I'm weird about...

    Hello.

Hello all. I'm Stephen, 17, from TN. I'd say I'm a moderate reader. I don't read all the time, but I've recently gotten back into it. And to top it off, going into AP English next year. I know it'll be rough, but hopefully I'll be able to keep up with all of the reading. Besides reading, I...
