Haha, yes, I look at 35 with a much different perspective, now, that is. ;)
I could have learned alot about how to direct my energies had I read these books sooner in my life. Teehee, I know I'm silly today. Anyway, I suppose this was their only way to ensure survival, or should I say "a...
Still reading 1916 and O Pioneers! (which I'm really enjoying)!
Ell, what do you think of Sense and Sensibility? I've read it twice and really enjoyed it, although Pride and Prejudice is my favorite Jane Austen book -- a very witty and entertaining look at personalities of that era.
Well, this comment is not much different. ;) I think the concept is really neat but letting go of the book would be too hard for me. If I should ever end up with two of the same copy, I think I will give it a try.
This idea reminds me of the day I got back a $10 bill with...
No, I can't help with that either but just wanted to echo that it "...is useful to read the Bible" because so much "literature makes reference to it". Especially the last year, I have become very aware of this although the literature doesn't necessarily say that it's from the Bible.
It would have to be no music for me, or without lyrics, at least. Light classical on a low volume might work, and possibly earthy/atmospheric tunes would be okay although they may cause me to start daydreaming about the outdoors.

I always have something with me in...
I'm sorry but it wouldn't be fair for me to vote, as my reading time has taken a severe cut lately and so would probably only give a half-hearted attempt, at best. :( Still, I'll be watching to see what you all decide, just in case... ;)
Since I like nature and gardening, Recipe for Bees looked interesting. Unfortunately, the link for Childhood was busy.
I'm trying to think of more suggestions...how about Dumas' The Count of Monte Cristo? If I think of any more, I'll be back. I'm already involved in two other on-line book...
I'm not sure about the wife beating but the other things have already been touched upon in the book. He had no patience with anyone who he didn't deem at least as intelligent as himself.
Anyway, I won't be able to tell much more about it as I had to return my copy to the library (only 2 wks...
Hi Lujan! :)
Robert Heinlen is the one author on your list that I am somewhat familiar with. Someone recommended the book The Door Into Summer since I was interested in cats and time travel. And I recently just bought The Cat Who Walks Through Walls but not sure when I'll get around to...
