    Pictures of my library

Yea, so many comments! The heinlein and Wheel of Time are my husband's, sadly I gave up on Wheel of Time after book 5 and only plan to pick them up again when he's done. I do loan a few out from time to time but only the ones that are replaceable. I haven't read Like Water for Chocolate but...

    Last seen...

I haven't been to the theater in ages, but I want to fit in Constantine this week. Otherwise, I look at listings and think, do I want to spend $8 to watch that movie, or would I rather just stay home and watch Garden State again? Garden State has been winning lately. Last night I watched...

    Most Interesting Thing You've Eaten

Mmm, catfish. A very unhealthy but popular meal: catfish, shrimp, both fried, with french fries. And hush puppies. Num. :)

    Most Interesting Thing You've Eaten

I've had alligator. It was OK. Sort of fishy. Here, of course, we have access to many Cajun delicacies: boudin, okra, crawfish. MMM.

    Authors Only

Seems a bit pretentious to me. Who are we to say that a published author is worthier than an unpublished one? And what about self-published?

    The Legends II

I've picked thru the Legends series. It would be more useful if I was better read in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre. I did love, love, love the follow up to American Gods.

Micheal Jackson ... Gulity Or Not Guilty?

check out www.thesmokinggun.com and read the grand jury evidence. I read it and think that yes, he's molesting little boys. I also think that the kid's mom should reevaluate her priorities.

Women's Studies: what is its mission?

Reminds me of a book I read for a sociology class several years ago, the McDonaldization of America. The author was bitching that no one eats at home anymore. My (female) professor asked, Would a woman have written this book? All the women in the class said, "NO" immediately, and all the...

    Hunter S. Thompson

Bought Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas today. I've read it before but didn't own it for some reason. Is there a better first sentence anywhere?

    Differences Between Men and Women?

That doesn't work, I always make the same complaint about men! Both my (male) boss and my husband are like this.

    Differences Between Men and Women?

I guess the problem is that men are more successful in business situations, so acting "like a man" means that you are more able to succeed by those rules, and are thus more valuable in certain ways.

Women's Studies: what is its mission?

I'm not sure I understand the value of a "Women's studies" program. But then, the closest I ever got was a feminist prof for Victorian Lit. Ever spent 4 weeks on a feminist reading of Dracula? Wowsers. My lack of respect for "critical studies" was what kept me out of grad school. I never...

    Differences Between Men and Women?

Most of my friends are men as well. So much less stupid conversational topics. Not that I don't appreciate my girlfriends, there just aren't too many that make the cut.

    Differences Between Men and Women?

This is something I was going to point out too, men are always asking me to orient everything north/south/east/west, and I'm saying turn left, turn right, there's a _________ on the corner.

    Seasons

I tend to like Spring best in general, but for reading, if I'm breathing, I'm reading.
