"The Old man and the sea" *shudders* I thought I had forgotten that book. Our teacher insisted on reading to us in grade 5 and we all thought it was as boring as all heck!
I've just finished studying "Strictly Ballroom" for Literature, and "Montana, 1948" in English - we do "what's eating...
I keep a record of the books I read - just author, title and date. I didn't think of summaries/genre etc when i started, and I don't have room. (my dad does his on the computer so he can make room. but he's just OVERLY pedantic - publisher, publication date - the works.) I've been keeping a...
The Scarab by Catherine Fisher
Artemis Fowl: The Opal Deception by Eoin Colfer
Eldest by Christopher Paolini
oh, yeah, and Harry Potter. And I'd like to read the fifth Obernewtyn book whenever it appears *sighs*
I loved the books my primary school teachers leant me (and even more that they had their maiden names in the front cover. That was funny... at the time.) but most of the books I've had to read for school, I haven't really enjoyed. In the lower levels they were pathetic about kids 3 yrs younger...
My books are arranged accordingly to how much I want to access them, by genre (well, all the fantasy are together, same with the mysteries.) and by what colour the spine is! I keep books by the same author together, but my bookshelf is two-books deep, with books stacked on top of those books...
I don't read as much as I would like, but I read everyday.
I read on the train, and during most lunchtimes. I used to read a lot at home, but I don't have the time anymore (and I probably spend too much time on the internet!)
I think I'm reading 10 - 14 books a month on average at the moment.
You mean people can't read in cars?
That must be ... really, really annoying. I can read anywhere, literally.
I think the only person who can't read in the car is my dad, because he's always driving. So he just listens to a lot of audio books!
I have books I dislike, but whether they are the worst, I'm not sure.
However, I think the worst book I've ever read is "Sabrina Fludde", because it had so much potential. That is, I loved the beginning, and the middle was alright but the ending was out-right unrealistic fantasy or not. I was...
I have a long line of books beside my bedroom door, but I think I only have 10 or so there to go, plus several on my shelf i haven't got around to reading. I also have a written list of books I want to read...
I read because... I guess I'm compulsive about how I read. I have to, and feel really bad when I don't read as much I would like.
I read mainly for entertainment, but I love the whole escapism thing (especaially at school), and you learn A LOT through what you read. Mainly, I think I just find...
