If miniseries do count, I really enjoyed the adaptation of The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough. I even got my hubby to watch it with me and he liked it too, although that was probably because the beautiful Rachel Ward was in it! I was amazed to find out that she (who played Meggie) married...
I was just thinking today what a wide variety of music I like to listen to. I enjoy Michael Buble, L. L. Cool J (but no other rappers, to make that disclaimer, and I don't really see him as a rapper), Ginny Owens, Shania Twain, Yo-Yo Ma, Missy Higgins, Leahy, John Williams, and The Beach Boys...
I thought I'd resurrect this thread since the movie's out now. Anyone seen it? My husband and I went to watch it last night. The word that kept running through my mind was noir. I thought the acting was superb, but the storyline was a little bit difficult to follow. I suspect they just had...
You're right about that. I guess they want it to have a simple look, but it is possible to do simple without it being plain and yucky. Even the colors are drab.
I might have to check out this listal thing!
If you enjoyed that one by Joshilyn Jackson, you should really try Between, Georgia. It's fabulous. I listened to it on audiotape while driving and loved every minute of it. It's definitely one that should be made into a movie.
Other "newish" books I think should be made into movies...

I agree 100%. Much Ado About Nothing was the only one I've read that I didn't feel I needed to do in-depth research to figure out what he was talking about. And it's much more fun to read something your teachers aren't having to explain to you line by line.
