I'm still brand spankin' new here, but I'd like to say that this does indeed sound like a fine idea. I'd be much more likely to participate in a genre-based book of the month group than an all-encompassing one where the selected book might not suit my taste.
Just my two cents!
Sofia, Phelbas, SFG75, Poppy1 - Thanks for the warm welcome!
Justin91 - I will keep in mind that I need to read the full "First Man in Rome" series by McCullough. Just another excuse to buy some more books!
lady.cordelia - Thank you! That is beautiful! I wish I could do that...
I've been a paid member since late last year. It's a pretty awesome site. It goes down every now and then, but other than that, it's great. I love the catalog function. It gets two thumbs up from me!

I...
This is a great question.
Here's my short list:
City of Dreams by Beverly Swerling
The Physician by Noah Gordon
A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson
Marrying Mozart by Stephanie Cowell
Garlic & Sapphires by Ruth Reichl
I just went to look at my bookshelf and realized that there are lots...
hardback or softback novels?
Softback - they're more comfy to cuddle up with on the couch!
Pen or pencil?
Pens. Pencils seem to get messy.
Paper clip or staple?
Usually paper clips, because they don't damage the paper.
Holding a book in hand or laying it on your desktop?
I'd prefer...
Hello everyone! :)
