    Jim Butcher: The Harry Dresden Chronicles

    I just didn't get sucked into the story and I didn't get any feeling for the characters. Maybe I set my expections too high because I like the Dresden files so much.

    I read Furies of Calderon last year. I'm sorry to say that I didn't care for it all too much, and I love the Dresden files. I did manage to read it cover-to-cover, I'm not sure if I will continue with Academ's Fury or not.

    I'm pretty sure I started one a while back. BTW Bacardi Jim, I'm registered at Repairmanjack.com as All Thumbs. I've read all the Adversary Cycle books and RJ except for Crisscross and Infernal (I'll get there). I usually devour these books in a few days, I just love 'em.

    looking for a SciFi war

    I would recommend Kevin J. Anderson's Saga of Seven Suns. Book 1 is titled Hidden Empire. There are 3 books out so far and a 4th coming out July 18th. There is also a Graphic Novel tie-in.
