I rarely pay attention to the number of stars, but like you all, I read the reviews (good and bad). Beergood summed it up best - I use the same method to determine whether I might enjoy a book.
However, unless all the reviews are bad, I will usually buy a book if the concept sounds like one...

You're so lucky your husband also reads....mine does not read very often (beside bathroom readers). I have to go outside the home to discuss books.

I would agree with you that it depends on the density of the book....I was giving an average. And a sinus headache...how do you even read? :confused:
If you have tabbed browsing, you might find it useful to open a thread in a tab. That way, you can still reference the others.
I find it very difficult to work without tabbed browsing these days. :)

For an average 200-300 page book - a week to two weeks. When I am not working, 1-3 days. I figure my working rate will increase after a year or two more of teaching, when I am not working on lesson plans or grading. I know this will pick up nearer to the end of the year, as I am almost done...
I often look for authors whom I've read before. Usually, when I find an author I enjoy, I end up reading all of their books in time.

I've been pretty amazed...my 7th graders haven't even mentioned the her or her hair. I was surprised when I went to cnn.com (though I should not have been surprised) and the top story had a picture of B.S. and her hair-do (or lack thereof).
