    Fumiko Enchi: The Waiting Years

    yeah, big time dumb suggestion. Of course it suggests that Tomo (the main character) had to wait many years before she could establish once again some sort of power or even meaning within the household, but I was wondering if anyone had a more thought through/intelligent/interesting explanation.
