I'll start with the classic mangas:
RPG, Tolkienish, adventure, war, fantasy, historical, epic:
Record of the Lodoss War
X (also known as X/1999)
Rose of Versailles
Vampire Princess Miyu
.HACK
ninja, epic, etc
Blade of the Immortal
Curse of the Undead Yoma
Rurouni Kenshin...
OMG thank you thank you!
oh so excited I can't wait to read these!
I dunno why this time around is those "high elves" that get me going...who know what it will be next? lol
but seriously how cool are those elves? hehehe ;)
India - I'm talking real Bollywood movies, not the holly-bolly colabos of late such as "Bend it Like Beckham" or "Monsoon Wedding" which are not really Bollywood (Indian) movies.
Ash as Paro in Devdas
Devdas (r.2002)
genre: drama, period/historical, movies based on books...
Japan - ok so they are right now more well known for their horror movies and anime but japan has so much more to offer.
Itchy the Killer (r.2001)
genre: horror? (more like gore), yakuza (japanese mafia)
starring: Tadanobu Asano, Nao Omori, Shinya Tsukamoto, Paulyn Sun, Susumu...
Korea - again, just like HK they do all sorts of genres but in the last few years there's been a trend of war and dramas. before that it was the comedy thing, and they are quite good at it.
My Wife is a Gangster (r.2001)
genre: comedy, action, mafia
starring: Shin Eun Kyung, Park...
okay I saw the other thread and I thought it would be impolite to highjack it so I started this one.
actually this one is different since it's more of a movie review thread for people that would like to get into movies from Asia. I've divided them into countries. all these movies I've seen...
I guess since I don't watch a lot of tv I don't really see that much of the hype, but I am soooo addicted to trailers! I like to go on Quictime trailers and Quictime Japan, plus a few other international sites to see the trailers
ya I'm stupid I know lol :p
ELDEST! I loved it, it was light and fluffy reading but quite entertaining
plus it had elves! oh and dragons which are always cool
can't wait for the next one:p
ohhh thanks guys! I am so taking this list to B&N this weekend hehehe
oh and Stewart do u mean I should post this in the fantasy forum? I'm confused
well most def the Kama Sutra comes to mind, I somehow don't think a five year old should be reading that. sure it's much more than sex, but just those chapters well...u get the idea lol :p
so I guess no porn or erotic materials for anyone under 15, no need to turn on a 10 year old ... they...
ya that's what I though...long is over 1000 plus for me too
oh and OMG why won't she let u read Camille?! wait...how old r u?
oh and T3M....if I tell u then I'd give away the good stuff ;)
IMHO I TOTALLY recommend the classics such as :
Record of the Lodoss War
Blade of the Immortal
amazing and the artwork is stunning! on and if ur into LoTR then u'll deff enjoy Lodoss ;)
