A is for alibi. Finished it off in one twelve hour shift, good I've a great job.
Enjoyed it. I do love a detective novel and this was no different. Guessed the baddy relatively early but I'm sure everyone else did. Nice easy read, one for the sun lounger while on holiday sipping on a gin and tonic.
Thanks bat girl. It's the first one I've read of Jackson and would agree with you, creepy rather than scary. I did enjoy it though.
I will keep an eye out for we have always lived in the castle too.
Thanks again
The haunting of hill house. Nicely written and enjoyable but felt a little disappointed as I was expecting a scarier read considering this is supposed to be the scariest book out there.
For quite a while now I've been alternating between current books and classics. Some cracking reads to be had from years ago also there are a couple I've found overrated.
Been googling scary books and the haunting of hill house is coming up universally as THE scariest book out there. Anyone on here read it? I think I may need to read this next.

The black echo, michael connelly. Liked it very much. Well written and enjoyable. Recommended reading for those who enjoy the detective slant in novels.
NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOO (pause for breath) OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
I got told once the British and the Americans have a completely different sense of humour, this thread is quite possibly proof of this.
Find an episode of Dads army or Fawlty towers, high quality, quintessentially British...
Can I vote fore The Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky. I'm afraid it's for selfish reasons. Its on my to read list but I've never got round to it. At least this way I'd have to make the effort to dust it off an sit down with it. Apparently it's very good.
Im not sure if its on netflix or not jennybug. Ive seen the series and, as we have previously discussed, its not as good as the book, though the series is still enjoyable.
As for having it on your bookshelf and not reading it, hang your head in shame!! :D I would be interested in your...
As above. Im looking for a new author. I like the Simon Kernick style fast pace thriller, also like child, grisham, baldacci, leather. Not Deaver please. If i ever meet Lincoln Rhyme im going to throttle him, whether he is in a wheelchair or not :p
I honestly cant believe that this book is getting slated. I thought and still think it was one of the best books ive ever read. It takes all sorts to make a world i guess.
I forgot about that! Your so right, Girl with a dragon tattoo was an awesome film! The lad i work with, who NEVER reads books, went out and bought the trilogy after watching GWADT. Thanks for that!!
