I hope you read the book and give me feedback.
I missed the poem and the interesting (also stormy?) discussion because I was offline for a couple of days.
I enjoyed The Storm very much because I read it while listening to the sounds of a heavy downpour. The first rain of the monsoons arrived today.
And now:
After the Storm

I'm not too happy with mine. I'm going through a phase, I hope temporary, where I'm really bereft of ideas. For this challenge, I culled out something out of an earlier story of mine.
Meadow, I liked your post, especially the ambiguity about the chick. Was it making the wishes come true? Would...
THE STORY OF RAJAN
Rajan was lying on the grass, watching the swans gracefully circle the golden lake. The birds called out to one another and Rajan jerked up in surprise. He could understand their speech and their words horrified him.

Dear Fellow members,
My book, King Neptune's Delite', is released today.
King Neptune's Delite is a novel for children (9+).
Available on Amazon as Kindle ebook.
The story starts in a tiny fishing village in Kerala, India. Maya finds a bottle with a diamond ring, a newspaper...
Thoroughly enjoyed the poem. Googled for more of Jenny Joseph poems and found 'The sun has burst the sky'. Liked it and yeah, loved your personal statement too!

The poem is rather long but I must place this one stanza here.
Into the street the Piper stept,
Smiling first a little smile,
As if he knew what magic slept
In his quiet pipe...
I liked all the entries. I think, not that anyone is asking (!), Meadow's entry was stronger because of the arrangement, it was oozing evil, but Sparhawk was a very close second. I liked the light effect.
Congratulations.
Liked them. They are deceptively simple. Like a craftsman, you have whittled away everything that was not essential to the poem.
Please tell me why you have said, 'Uttered on my mind'. Is it to show the restful and passive state of the mind?
