No, it's not. The title comes from the rumor, as expressed in the novel, that Satan came to Mohammad one night in the cave instead of God, and gave him verses that Mohammad thought were God's and therefore included in the Quaran. At least that's how I remember it being told in the novel.
I've read it twice and on some levels I really enjoyed it and on others I didn't. His style of writing is very strange to a novice, because he doesn't really tell a linear story in the traditional sense. I mean, there are linear sections to the novel, but they are also interwoven and shuffled...

You could try Jeffrey Deaver. He wrote The Coffin Dancer and The Bone Collector. They are forensic, mystery/police type thrillers.
Tess Gerritsen is also pretty good - she writes medical thrillers.

In terms of murder mysteries, Janet Evanovich writes a REALLY GOOD mystery series about bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Start with One for the Money. They're fun, with good characters and action, and just hilarious! The first book is a tad violent however...
