I use one of the several paper bookmarks I picked up at Tattered Cover bookstore while on vacation in Colorado. That bookstore was one of the highlights of the trip!

You know you're addicted to reading when...

Yep, I've read Arthritis Today rather than reading nothing when I was stuck in a similar situation (I'm 23 and my joints feel fine) :D The other characteristics (especially making sure books can fit into the purse!) are definitely familiar.

    Good romances???

I don't read too much romance but I've heard that Debbie Macomber is a good choice for gentle romances. Her novel Someday Soon was rated very high by fans on Amazon.com.

    American History X

American History X is one of those movies that shines a bright light into those evil parts of the human soul that you're rather not see, but you know are there. It's brilliant because the acting is superb, and the story progresses in such a way as to slowly unfold the problem of racism and...

    Question Game

*clears throat* For the sake of reviving the question game, I'll answer... In high school I accidentally bit someone I was trying to kiss. Major embarassment.:o What's your favorite tree/flower?

    Christopher Moore: Lamb

I too really enjoyed it. It had the appeal of being totally off the wall yet somehow, sort of, believable. I mean, it is interesting that a lot of Christ's teachings have relationships to Eastern philosophies/religions, doesn't it? And Biff kicking ass and getting laid was just funny :D The...

    Crackers/Bonbons

I heard another funny, related story today about how American Christmas traditions differ from others. My colleague married a French man and the first time they went to France to visit his family over Christmas, she bought a bunch of gifts for everyone in his family. He tried to tell her not...

    Season 4 - The Apprentice

I couldn't believe it either. I just can't understand why he would tell Trump not to hire Rebecca too. What could he possibly lose???? It makes me wonder if everything he said to Rebecca about how he really respected her and everything was just bullsh*t, or what??? And why did Trump go...

    Favorite non-fiction books?

I found one, though I haven't read it: Jungle: A Harrowing True Story of Survival by Yossi Ghinsberg It's about a man who finds himself completely lost and alone in jungle, under very harsh conditions, and how he survives.

Your Top Ten Books of 2005

Hey Ell, I'm really glad you liked Time's Arrow! :D Have you ever read A History of the World in 10 1/2 Chapters by Julian Barnes? I read that one for the same postmodernist literature class I read Time's Arrow for and I liked History even better. Check it out here.

How's the weather where you live?

Muggle, I suppose you could try putting them outside... but maybe that would be too cold, or dirty, or easily blown away? Not sure if you have a place outside where you could tuck them away.

    The Worst of 2005
