"I woke this morning with a stranger in my bed. The head of blonde hair beside me was decidedly not my husband's. I did not know whether to be shocked or amused." - Falling Angels, Tracy Chevalier.
I had to know what this book was about after reading that.
Organizing books? Who needs it? Hee. I have one bookshelf with tall shelves and all my hardcover books get stuck in there. I have a shorter bookcase with tons of random paperbacks stuffed in however they fit, and the shelf underneath my TV has more paperbacks. There isn't any order. It takes me...
Well... all the shelving in my room is full of books, and if it's on one of my shelves, it means I haven't read it yet. So probably around 200 because I buy books with the intention of reading them and then go buy more without finishing the ones I bought last time I went shopping.
My name...
I don't really pay attention to book news in general, but if I know that a book I really want is coming out soon, I will seek out the date it comes out. I don't bother with reviews, because even if I read reviews, I wouldn't pay attention to them because only I know what I like.
Sometimes my friends will borrow books from me. For example, I let a friend borrow the fifth Harry Potter book from me and he took a month to get it back to me. After 2 weeks, I started asking him about my book. So, I guess, two weeks.
To just hang around and read, I prefer a big bookstore with comfy chairs, like Books A Million. But to actually buy books, I like used bookstores like McKays because it's cheaper.
I write my name in my books as opposed to using bookplates. And yeah, sometimes I loan books to people and don't get them back, so unless I know I'll get the book back, I'll only loan books I won't miss if I don't get them back.
I usually read only one at a time unless I leave that at school or someplace. Then I'll start another one and have two going after I find the one I've lost/left.
