Not just the spamming. It's the atmosphere. Something changed. Suddenly, this place went from the best place on the net to a place I don't enjoy being at anymore. I know that's simply personal preference, but I have heard from others that they have noticed a change, too, whatever the hell it is.

I hate knowing I'm working. I'd rather sit at home and do some sporadic library-work inbetween weeklong bouts of procrastination.

And it's not just that (though, it is a big factor), it's the entire atmosphere. It went from friendly to hostile in a damn hurry (we all witnessed that 4 or 5 months ago), and somehow, somewhere, the hostility went away (or did it? No, not really.), and was replaced by raging superficiality.

I'm not pissed about anything. Like I said, I'm just asking. And I haven't even read the threads you refer to, so no comment on that.

So why not both, digital and 'real' ones? I mean, you have to admit that having all that text digital is mighty convenient.

Yeah, same here, we weren't allowed to use the internet in my early years, but lately (the last 2 years or so) they've given in, and allowed us to use them, if, of course, we cite them in our bibliography in perfect MLA (ack!). Cheers
