I have one. I don't know if it is an optical trick of light, or a ghost, but here goes. My brother-in-law was over one evening and we were watching football and all of a sudden, he asked me, "How long have you had a ghost?" The television and a lamp are on a wall with a doorway in it and...
That's a really difficult question to answer. I've been reading since I was three, so its kind of hard to remember specifics from way back then. I remember reading my oldest sister's books at around the age of four, and she's 8 years older than me. So the first novel I read was probably a...
I would have to agree, abc. I know that if I were an author and a reader came up to me and said that my book stayed with them long after they read it, I would feel incredibly complimented (and successful).
I just started this book yesterday and I must say I am enchanted. The style is unconventional, but I can see how using the traditional styles of storytelling would make this novel ...well...flat. Alex's contributions are hilarious and while a little confusing, are an integral part of the...
I get like that, too, if it has been a book that has pulled me deeply. Some books end well, like Kook said, but sometimes I find myself wondering what else happened. And it doesn't have to be a lengthy book, either. Some short novels or novellas are extremely captivating .
I must disagree. Words are not enough. There is so much more to communication than just words. I can communicate with no words at all (a certain look in church makes my rowdy children sit still), and I can take the exact same words, and by using different tone of voice, inflection and/or body...
Small books in the center and increasing in height toward the sides. Helps eliminate the sag. How's that for organized? :p Actually, I have the heaviest books on the bottom shelf because that one is supported by a small cabinet, but other than that I'm lucky I have a bookcase!
Egad, "teh" drives me nuts!!! (in my own typing, that is). I am far from a proficient typist, I have to look at the keyboard most of the time, and I type with six fingers (not quite the two finger hunt and peck- that's hubby), but I aim for good spelling, grammar and punctuation. There are...
Yes, I do tend to forget why a title is on there, but I trust myself, and know I put it on there for a reason. I won't promise to read every title, I frequently start books I don't finish, or return them completely unread, and I am always adding to my list. It is in a small 4x5 spiral notebook...
yes, ma'am.
*goes into corner with TBR notebook, counts quickly*
I have approximately 550 titles on my list. If I read one book a week, it would take me 11 years to read them all!!   I told you I didn't want to know!
Well, I don't know too many poeple that read as much as I do. My mother-in-law does, so we talk books at least once a week during our weekly library/grocery trips, and I talk with the librarians, too. Other than that, I only have a couple of friends I see very infrequently, but when we do...
