Books you read because of B&R

I have several Amazon wishlists, according to genre, and my trusty little notebook. I feel I must add that even when I get a book whose title I didn't get directly from B&R, this forum has helped my tastes in reading change to such a degree that it influences my choices in reading material in...

    The seiries/Book your reading

I am reading The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Originally written for children, I'm finding them a really entertaining read. They are about kids (of course), good versus evil, magic, and other worlds. In Lewis's preferred reading order (not the order published): 1. The Magician's...

Books you read because of B&R

That list would be quite long. After I joined in 2004, I quit reading all the harlequin-type novels I used to read and really began stretching out into other genres and have never been able to read another on of those again (thank goodness). To name a few of the most memorable: Stanislaw...

Anyone ever read two books at once?

I usually have more than one book going at a time, but I find they have to be of very different genres, or I'll begin to favor one and end up never finishing the other. And of course there are books for my courses.

    Best place to read

While I'll read anywhere, I most often read in bed at night after all have gone off to sleep, or in my easy chair when I am alone, or nearly alone in the house.

    your favorite booze?

Oh, yes, this is my favorite booze, preceeded by a little salt and followed by a slice of lemon. I'll have two, thank you.:D I also like to sip mixed drinks, my faves are Tequila Sunrise (surprised?), Cosmopolitan, Margarita-on-the-rocks-no-salt, and Mojito. As for beer, I prefer darker...

What kind of reader are you?

That pretty much sums it up for me as well. During the semester, I wish I could read more than just my texts, but between, I am voracious.

Academic books and texts that you're reading

I'm between semesters at the moment, so I'm not reading my Intro to Financial Accounting text anymore. But I have just begun Rachel Carson's Silent Spring. I am considering going into environmental engineering, and have heard from several sources that this book basically began the...

    Good place to buy books?

Heck yes!!! I avoid buying my texts in the campus bookstore. I bought a book last semester from an online store for $10 that the campus store had for over $100 used  . I believe in supporting my school, but come on, that's just a rip-off.

Ahhh some people are so mean!

As far as this supposed contract goes, it could say you had to stand on your head every other Thursday and twice on Sundays, but if you didn't sign it, it doesn't mean a thing. She probably did spend the money and all that, so if she sends you the £20, and even if she doesn't, you may have to...

    Good place to buy books?

While amazon does have used books at really great prices, sometimes as low as $.01, daedalusbooks.com and hamiltonbook.com both have new books at great prices and their shipping costs are per order, not per book.

Do you read books in a series consecutively or take breaks?

Sometimes I am forced to take a break between books because I am reading them as an author comes out with them, but either way, I read other stuff or else I will OD.

    Being SCARED by a movie

The Fog, by far. The one made in 1980-ish, not the new one. I saw it when I was maybe twelve and to this day I still get the creeps when it is foggy.
