I have a kindle that I have only used 3-4 times. I was really pumped to get it and dled all the free books onto it ( the classics and such), but whenever I want to read a new book, I just go buy it from the store. I like real books and having a book shelf better
I personally enjoyed all of Rick Riordan's books, even though I am 24. They all have the same basic formula, but it's still good, and sometimes you just want something fast paced and simple to help ease your mind and make you feel good.
if you like descartes, you'll probably like locke, and if you like locke you'll probably like hume ( my favorite philosopher hands down, damn genius that well known greats like freud and einstein talk highly of )
I was just commenting based on the topic starters post. They said that they heard it was getting banned for "violence" and "sexually explicit" content.
I just mentioned it because I read the books, and all they do is kiss.
The best way would probably be to take them to Barnes and Nobles and tell them that they can pick out a book that they want. That way they are choosing what interests them. Just hang out and browse for a hour or two and they will be bound to find something that captures them, or at least tickles...
People just like to control other people too much.
I often wonder how awesome some books could have been if the author wasn't afraid of offending certain audiences.
Anyways, the most sexually explicit things in the Hunger Games trilogy are kisses. Lol.
I reread books in order to try to get that feeling I got the first time I read them..I don't know, it's hard to describe, but every now and then I find a book that makes me feel good inside. Those are the only books I ever really reread.
I beat mass effect (number one) 2.5 times ( quit during the third game towards the end) and I am playing mass effect 2 right now so I can justify buying mass effect 3. I am sure I'll like 3 though.
I think people that dis Harry Potter are funny. The books are clearly awesome, and have been one of the biggest sensations in reading in the last century.
I think a lot of people just like to pretend they don't like Harry Potter because they want to seem different or something. They are good...
I liked it, but there are some parts I wish that would have been a little bit different. It was still good and it made it seem more realistic as to what real college/high school aged people would do with that much power ( drinking and screwing).
I always appreciate it when an author isn't afraid to swear or be violent when the time comes for it to happen in a book. So often it seems like they are afraid, so they dull it down greatly.
And on the censoring kids stuff, eh, who cares really? They are hearing more graphic things from...
I used to read about 60-80 a year, but now that I work I think it is going to be around 20-30 because it is definitely taking me a lot longer to get through books now.
