when i was around 13-15, i really liked the del tora quest series. there are a ton of books in the series, but they are pretty short, easy to get through, but make you think and have some twists that would be good for a young kid.
i pounded out the last 200 pages of the last book of the game of thrones series (dance with dragons).
I thought it was a lot better than the 4th book (feast for crows), but it leaves a lot left unsaid.. hopefully he writes the 6th book faster than it took him to do the 5th, but I doubt it...
i have a kindle, but i pretty much only buy physical copies of books.
The best thing about the kindle is that you can get any book for free if the copy rights are expired. The books that fall into this category are vast. You can get any book pre 1940 for free pretty much. So, instead of...
The series definitely started slacking after the first 3 books. The first 3 were pretty amazing, book 4 was pretty bad, and book 5 is pretty decent but not on the level of the first 3. They are huge books, like 800-1000 pages each. If you like fantasy type of books, with lots of plot twists, you...
i watched this movie called cruel intentions, and then read about it online and found out that it was based off of les liasion dangeruse, so i bought it haha. i just read the others because they have been made into some movies haha.
there are some books that i really want, but don't even up buying for months and months because It's hard to make myself pay 20 bucks or so for a book. like there was this david hume book at barnes and nobles for 15 bucks, and i pretty much looked at it every time i went to barnes and nobles...
i really liked les liasion dangeruse, and pretty much all of alexander dumas' books. I think that's about all the french books that I have read besides famous philosophers. I read them in english by the way. I took french for 4 semesters in college, but I read and speak it at like a elementry or...
this forum has always been pretty chill. not crazy active, but gets new members and has some loyal ones. i like to check it every week or so, then there are usually a few new posts. everyone is busy reading i guess? haha
i have a kindle but i only use it to download classics for free because they don't have copy right any more. otherwise i just buy books from the store. i got a bunch of books for 40 percent off at border's liquidation sale.
i'm reading a dance with dragons currently by george rr martin...
P.s.
What is the difference between labor and management and lords and serfs? Regulation seems bad. It makes it harder for new businessmen to compete, because of all the hoops they have to jump through. like acquiring licenses, certain rules they have to follow, ect.. Regulations seem like they...
If a society is ran by "brutal dictators", it sounds like an Authoritarian or Totalitarian society as opposed to a socialist one. They could pretend they were socialists, but that doesn't mean that they are.
I think the only true socialist type societies are probably those religious cult...
I use good reads, mainly to read reviews on books after I read them, sometimes before, if I am thinking about reading one.
P.s.
i like amazon the best for reviews
ya needs to be dark in my opinion, a lot of the time I feel like the authors are too afraid to go where they need to go to make the book good. Like they will have a great warrior that never kills, two lovers that never make love, ect..
