i haven't bought any for a month or two... but i bought way too many books then and i haven't been able to catch up yet haha!
i bought all 4 game of thrones and they are 900 each, hunger games, life of pie, dune, city of bones, city of glass, latest ranger apprentice, and the new percy...
Good philosophy book? I'd go with John Stewart Mill's On Liberty or Utilitarianism or David Hume's Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding.
I majored in philosophy in college, and those were my two favorite authors and my favorite works.
For your topic, I would go with Mill's On Liberty, you...
yeah, i know there are some that are way cheaper, and some are even free, but there are also books that cost almost the same on kindle. When I am only going to save 3-5 bucks, I'd rather just have the hard copy. That's just me though, I still like my kindle.
I've read a few books on my kindle, all free ones, but I can't bring myself to pay for kindle books when I can get the same book at the store, in hardcopy, for a comparable price. They would have to make the books cost at least 5 bucks less on kindle than hard copy for me to consider paying for...
I am about 150 pages into book 1. It started out slow and I really hated her writing style the first 30 pages or so, but I kept reading and now I actually like it. I think it just takes some time to get used to her writing. I wish it was a little more graphic, and it very well might become more...
The Girl With the Dragon tattoo, the da vinci code, and Harry Potter were all pretty good. I mean shit, isn't Harry Potter one of the most sold novels of all time? Why wouldn't you want to read it before you die?
Yeah, honestly the gunslinger wasn't a great book, but the others in the series are really good. If you can manage to get through the gunslinger I think pretty much everyone would enjoy the remainder of the books.
If I won the lottery I would....
Play video games, watch movies, read books, have sex with my girlfriend, and eat fancy food...
In a different state or country every few months!
I don't really understand how we can make the book "evolve" (I.E. CHANGE) by "interacting" with it. If we find new things about a book on a second reading, doesn't that just mean that we perceived the book differently during the second reading? Do our perceptions really change what the book...
I always try to treat the book and movie as separate entities so that I can enjoy them both. Books are definitely better most of the time, but I can still enjoy the movies if I don't go into it with high hopes
Do you consider yourself a different person than you were 2-3 years ago? You have changed most likely (all your skin particles have probably been replaced with new ones, your views on the world and how you interact with people may have changed, ect.), but you would still consider yourself the...
my best for a year was around 70, i can't remember exactly though because my hard drive died :( this year I'm at 10 books, but I haven't been reading very much compared to usual
I just finished the girl with the dragon tattoo and just started the girl who played with fire. I love the story, it's really good. I'm sure the girl who kicked the hornets' nest will be very good too
