    Hello and welcome Dolly :)

    Hi

Is it really crowded in Salem in October? I've heard getting a hotel room is hard at that time. I've actually got the last week of October off :D

    Richard Laymon

In a way, I found Traveling Vampire Show to be very nostalgic. It was a coming of age story that had a horrific twist. I'm glad it was my first Laymon read. I don't think I've ever seen Funland either. The ones I see most commonly around here are Come out Tonight, Body Rides, Among the...

    Richard Laymon

Yes, Bite is the vampire one. I'm definately going to pick up Night in the Lonesome October. I don't remember seeing it at B&N though, I might have to do some searching. :)

    Hi

Well I'm originally a northern Vermonter, St. Albans. But I'm now a Central Vermonter, hehe. Ever been to Vermont? Massachusetts is nice, although I've only been in the Boston area of it. I've always wanted to go to Salem. I haven't read The Taking yet, it's waiting for me to pick it up. I...

    Someone tell me this.

I'm new and I'm alittle worried about posting some of the books I enjoy reading after looking into this thread. Do people get picked on for reading certain things?

Suggestions: October book of the month

I'm new so I wasn't sure if I could vote or not. It would be kind of cool for October to read a scary book. Or maybe even one that has to do with Dracula. So my vote is The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova.

What fiction book do you keep reading over and over?

One I have reread quite a bit is Suffer the Children by John Saul. It's good, but not one of the greatest books I've ever read. But there's something about it that draws me back. I've also read Anne Rice's vampire chronicles over again.

    Richard Laymon

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to pick up Night in the Lonesome October. I do have some Bentley Little and Ed Gorman books that I got this summer at some used books stores. So many books so little time :) What did you think of Bite? I haven't read it yet so no spoiler, but I'd like your opinion.

    Hi

Alittle more about myself, hmmm. I am a female(made an error with my profile earlier). I enjoy reading all different types of books, but I have a love for horror. Koontz, Saul, Rice, Laymon, and so many more. Being summer here, I like to visit used bookstores and have picked up sooo many...

    Richard Laymon

I discovered a love for Laymon when I picked up The Traveling Vampire Show. I've got a few more of his, but haven't got around to reading them yet. Umm, I think I have Body Rides, Come out Tonight, and Bite-which is the next one I'd read. I think he's a great storyteller.
