It was a mistake corrected by Beer Good and I thanked him and acknowledged it. I resent the fact that anyone would accuse me of plagerism without even taking the time to get to know me. Stewart, you have been nothing but condescending and rude to me. As a moderator you should be ashamed of...
Okay, Stewart. Now you have censored me! Why did you delete my entire post? Was it as offensive as that putz's? No censorship here? HA! Only the posts that criticize the moderators, apparently. I am leaving. gone, gone, gone.
Does this qualify as attacking or is it supposed to be funny? Honestly parts of this board are enormously juvenile and should definitely be monitored better. If I wanted to engage in nonsense talk I'd find a forum for junior high students. Although, quite frankly, this is certainly beginning...
I am done with this Board. Where are the moderators? Do they do anything here? I thought I had found a really nice board where I could enjoy some time discussing books and authors with other intelligent people. This is ridiculous. Why allow people to start these type of moronic threads and...
I wasn't counting. The number is not significant. Only that female writers can and do write as well as men. As to why more are not acknowledged...its always been a male biased society. Its changing and in time perhaps women will overtake men in the awards categories. But for now I am...
Stewart, thank you for pointing that out. I am aware of their sexes but apparently was clumsy in my highlighting as I went through the list. Of course it is a personal choice. It would make sense that men would be more attracted to male writers sharing a similar outlook and cultural...

Here is a list of some of those women who "don't" know how to write.

Gosh - I don't know where to begin...I'd have to start off with Joyce Carol Oates. She has totally captivated me. Her style is unique and no book ever seems "similar" - she is able to make each new novel stand on its own merits. She writes brilliantly about the female experience in the 1950's...
I guarantee you this joker has never picked up anything by the Brontes or Jane Austen. He is just trying to provoke a reaction OR he really is that stupid! In any even he's not worth more of my energy.
Favorite books I read in 2006 were:
The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini
What I Lived For - Joyce Carol Oates
The Russian Debutante's Handbook - Gary Shteyngart
Motherless Brooklyn - Jonathan Lethem
The Brothers of Gwynedd - Edith Pargeter
Please justify your remarks and tell me which of those WRITERS works you have read and specifically why you find them boring and horrendous. And just for your future edification - poets WRITE. They are considered writers. Are you really this stupid, or just pretending? Do you even know who...
Apparently you guys don't read that much. I'll just provide you with a small sample. You may want to go to the library with this list then come back and have a discussion without displaying your ignorance.

I just finished I Married a Communist - its wonderful! Philip Roth is truly one of my favorite writers but I always find myself both dreading and anticipating his new releases. I try to limit myself to 1 Roth per year. There is something so depressing and gripping about his self-hating male...
Yes, its a portrait! Just heard Edward Norton interviewed on NPR - he is adapating Motherless Brooklyn for the screen!! Actually, he would be a great choice for the lead as well.
I was not questioning the moderators at all. I am simply sharing an opinion. My concern is that when any conversation on a message board takes a turn and enters the realm of personal threats - that seems to me to be cause for concern and perhaps a good reason to issue a warning or a temporary...
