Its happened twice in the past week where I start to think that someone might call and boom, they do the minute I'm thinking of that...I also experience deja vu alot...ALOT....
damnit!! Americans do get the crappier covers. grr....I think there was a thread about this somewhere... All the European covers posted here are waaaaaay better than the ones I get to see in the bookstores...argg..

Beloved is hauntingly good. If you give it a GOOD chance. Just continue with the book, even though it maye not seem to make sense to you. You'll probably work it out later. When I read it, it was with a small class so we were always discussing the confusing parts. This is a kind of book that...

I'm the editor of my school newspaper and a woman submitted a story for our paper whose name is Phoebe Ackley. As in characters from The Catcher in the Rye. Pretty cool no? But yeah, when the names are not that common (names like Felix or Angelica, people I know) it does get distracting. But...
Read about Cirque Du Freak at:
http://www.kidsreads.com/series/series-cirque-titles.asp
Exquisite Corpse deals with homosexuality, necrophilia, murder...etc.
I suggest the Cirque Du Freak series by Darren Shan or maybe Clive Barker's Abarat series. Barker's books are filled with awesome, weird and colorful art that could lure your brother into reading them.:)
I think that maybe now he could be old enough for Poppy Z Brite's Exquisite Corpe...but...
Probably the entire "Drizzt" books...those were good times. I was 14-16 so I didnt pay much heed to the grammatical errors and such. They were an utter joy.:)
Also...possibly...The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton and Tietam Brown by Mick Foley.
When I buy brand new books, I expect them to be in near mint condition. You'd be surprised at the state of some of the books in my local Barnes and Noble.
When I buy used books I usually dont mind tiny creases or dog-eared pages. I like to keep my books in the same condition as when I...
Congrats! Just think about it, you have 40 years of experience under your belt! I'm 19 and I can't wait to be a full grown, wise "adult" like you!:)
Cheers!
I've seen a few good movies this summer.
The Omen- one of the best remakes ever. really very good. (B+)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest- too much BS though fun. Kiera Knightly can't act her way out of a paper bag...sorry for the cliche'. (C)
Clerks 2- waaaaaaaaay better than...
I just saw The Descent on Thurs at the theater. Yeah, I got the crappy American ending where Sarah survives. I saw the original ending on youtube. Much better. The only somewhat logical reason for the American ending is that they could make a sequel....ewww...NO!
Either way I loved the...
