To choose just one would be hard.
Looking at my bookshelf it would have to be one of the following:
Aldous Huxley
Douglas Adams
Richard Adams
Hermann Hesse
Robert Heinlein
Terry Pratchett
Fyodor Dosteyevsky
C.S Lewis
John Steinbeck
George Orwell
Clive Barker
Like I said hard...
I've read Franny and Zooey which considering it's just two conversations is a fantastic book. Really enjoyed it. Nine Stories is on my bedside table at the moment. I've read the first three so far. A certain boy wizard interupted my reading.
I think a mixture of both really. I struggle more when I'm just told something.
What film are you most looking forward to still being released in 2005?
From my point of view it's the fact that I'm crap at talking to people in a social setting but that's probably because I spent my teenage tears hibernating in my room with a good book instead of going out drinking cider on street corners.
I went snorkelling whilst on holiday as well and founf it fascinating so would love to try scuba diving now. Though a sky dive has always been an ambition of mine. Bit of a nutter when it comes to heights I have to admit.
Don't you find it hard to think of a new question sometimes...
Mostly film Magazines like Empire and Hotdog. I sometimes pick up a PS2 or Xbox mag to see if there are any decent games on the horizon. Also read The Big Issue and occaisionally Private Eye. My housemate leaves his copies of Q in the bathroom so I tend to read that whilst evacuating my bowels...
Jeez. On a regular basis? Eat cheese maybe!
I went quadbiking two weeks ago which was pretty exciting but I was on holiday.
Would you much rather see the top of Everest or the bottom of the Mariannas Trench?
Now you mention it I remember Ron making horse noises.
I don't think Snape is evil either. I would agree that the reason he killed Dumbledore is because of the Unbreakable Vow. I still think that he won't be able to convince Harry of that though in the next book no matter what he does to try...
At the moment maybe one of the classic sci-fi authors like H.G Wells or Jules Verne. Just to see how amazed they would be by what has come true and also how much more has happened.
For you what is the most boring thing in the world?
Did you actually enjoy that film Monkeycatcher? It was one of those that I was really looking forward too and when I finally saw it I was totally dissapointed. Each to their own though. That dance scene from your Avatar has to be the best bit. Just a pity that I had to sit through the rest of it...
As I've just got back from Thailand I don't think my employers would be too happy if I took more time off right now. If I could though I'd go and fulfill my ambition of base-jumping of Angel Falls and then going for a flight over the Nazca Lines in Peru.
Classic question time.
Who from...
That's because he is an annoying prancing prat. Tom Bombadil was the worst thing about The Lord of the Rings. I've reread the books a couple of times and somehow I always manage to skip that chapter. And I'm sure he wasn't little and green like the thread starter said. Wasn't he really tall and...
Speaking of Umbridge. Didn't the Centaurs kill her in Goblet of Fire? I'm sure it even mentions that near the start of Half Blood Prince. Then we find out she is still working for the Ministry. Just another plot hole methinks!
I quite agree. After that I'd say that Job comes next.
I do agree though that Stranger in a Strange Land is a bit over-rated. Though it should still be on every sci-fi fans must read list.
I loved the Dragonlance books as a teenager especially the Chronicles and anythinh that had Tasslehoff in as well such as Wanderlust or The Brothers Majere. I would probably re-read the Chronicles and Legends again but I don't know about the rest. Maybe The Legend of Huma or Kaz the Minotaur as...
I've just ordered season 3 from dvdmagnet. I spent the end of last week watching all 22 episodes of season 2. Personal favourites are the episode where he plays the black chauffeur and the lad with downs syndrome.
As for how it ended he ends up in a cafe ran by God and meets some of the...
Firefly rocked. I caught some of the episodes when I lived in the US and was shocked to discover it had been cancelled. I have it on DVD now. My favourite episode has to be Jaynestown and my favourite character is probably Wash.
Serenity gets released here in early October. Doubleshiny!
