I'm 25 (26 in January), and I've been saving for almost the last two years. I have a simple IRA, and now I have a 401k. I'll probably roll the Simple IRA over into the 401k in January.
I save, but it may not be necessary one day. My girlfriend, soon to be fiance, is studying to be a...
A coworker that irritates everybody may becoming to practice with us tomorrow night. My teacher is already telling us how he wants us to submit him . . . if he shows up. Fun.
The thread can be both, MotoKid. Screw it. Who cares anyway?
Did you catch the pay-per-view last night? Good one. Really good one. Riggs was throwing some really heavy hands.
Did you hear about the Boston cop that was in it? Sean Gannon. We downloaded his underground movie during...
Great post, Kook. I find UFC way more satisfying than boxing. UFC isn't about who's best at doing it one particular way. It's about who's the best. I also like that most of the fights have a clear winner. That's not always so in boxing. In the UFC, those guys are not fighting for points...
I got the fights on DVR. There were some really good ones. Griffin had a textbook fight. Once he took that Canuck to the ground, you could've used his fight for a primer.
I really liked that new heavy weight guy, the guy from Texas. He had some really quick hands.
That Russian...
I enjoyed Things Fall Apart. Well, I liked the story, not that it's a feel-good story, but a good one nonetheless. The one caveat I have is that his style is not that great. He uses a few redundant and unnecessary phrases over and over. It drove my girlfriend mad when she read it.
There is an art to defending yourself or in subduing a man in a matter of seconds. Some of the best fights aren't even that violent. The best ones usually begin with a quick kick or punch and quickly move into a lightning fast flurry of grappling holds with the best man forcing the other to...
90% of all fights end up on the ground. Grappling is essential to fighting. You can go back and watch the first UFC events, and the guys that didn't know how to grapple got beat. You have to know grappling and submission holds. Yeah, sure, it's not the most exciting thing to watch sometimes...
I've recently become a fan, MK. A guy I work with has actually beaten Frank Shamrock. He has now taken me under his wing, and I'm learning his brand of fighting, which is a mix of Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling and Boxing.
I used to think the UFC was senseless violence, but the minute you learn...
The cost of hybrids kills their gas cost saving abilities. On top of that, they're not that much more efficient than a regular car.
I put my money on hydrogen too. Sure, there's the infrastructure, but there's money to be made there, and where there's money to be made, there are investors...
Rap your head around this (and it is the dominant theory): gravity is the result of matter bending the space-time continuum. Yeah. I still don't completely understand it, but I'm going to buy at least one book explaining quantum physics. And to answer your question, yes, the space-time...
Thanks for the link. I love the Daily Show, especially the segment This Week in God. Anyway, I'm also a huge Vonnegut fan; I share a lot of his views on the human condition. I wish I could've caught the interview, but oh, well. Thanks for posting the link. His PR campaign is working though...
The devastation here in MS is absolutely incredible. The storm surge went six miles inland. My coworker's parents lived right on the shore. They "evacuated" half a mile inland, and the last time anyone talked to them, before the phone went out, the house they were in was flooded up to the...
