I usually start out as an idiotic seeker, then when I finally find the book(s) I want I'm a browser, which is how I spend the majority of my bookstore time... so I voted browser.
A Beautiful Mind:stars5: It was really great and unexpected. It also pulled me in because we learned about this guy and the theory he comes up with in our Microeconomics class.
Night at the Museum 2 (IMAX.... yeeeahhh!):stars4:: I liked it very much and the best part was that I watched it at the Smithsonian.
*Had a scary movie night! whhoooo!*
The Others:stars4:: it was kind of predictable in the begining, but there were things that kept you guessing. The end I...
Oh used bookstores... the biggest thing is selection. Sometimes it's just not there! And then I find myself wandering around looking for God knows what. I HATE leaving a bookstore empty handed, especially now that the nearest bookstore to my house is a 45 minute drive. If the selection is so bad...
I can somewhat agree with that, yet I think its just the actual school work that gets to me rather than the book itself. I try to read the books on my own terms before letting school mixed with my own procrastination get a hold of it.
I read The Cather in the Rye when I was 14 or 15 and I...
I'm in ... King Arthur's court, convincing thousands of people I'm some kind of awesome magician... and it's working, too!
A Conneticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court - Mark Twain
[IUp[/I]; for a pixar film it was very good. It made me a little weepy ^_^
Taken; booooring... I was very disappointed because I heard it was going to be one of those really good thrillers, but he just runs around beating and killing random people.
Sometimes there are books that you are sad they they finish and you want more. The Catcher in the Rye is not that book. Not that it wasn't good, I really liked it, but the ending was an ending. I was sufficient, for me, had closure.
I believe someone has already mentioned it, but A Clockwork Orange - Burgess, is very good and follows your guidelines (If you dont mide a bit violence and sex).
I'd go with A Farewell to Arms, as long as you're willing to really animate the characters yourself because Hemingway sure doesn't do it for you. ^_^ It's still a great read.
I'll also save you the potential death by boredom and say that The Red Badge of Courage is aweful.
Those are the...
I did pretty much the same thing as you did my freshman year of highschool. My English teacher gave me a list of about 170 books that appeared on the AP Lit test. I found an updated (much longer) version of that list on the interweb...
AP Literature: Titles from Free Response Questions since...
No, I haven't. There is a lot of things Roth has been in that I haven't seen which is a great excuse to continue watching his work. I wanted to watch Pulp Fiction but Block Buster didn't have it.
Well I'm not going to say that I know what people want (:flowers: hehe, I'm just a kid. I don't even know what I want! ^_^), but I guess people watch movies just for an interesting story, or gore, or because of a particular actor (guilty). Maybe people walked into the theater expecting a good...
Yeah, I saw the American one. The movie was definatly a jab at the audience. It was totally not what people want to see. (Especially the remote scene).
12 Monkeys: woah... Bruce is always in the craziest movies...
Resevoir Dogs: It was good, but the language was really distracting...
The last movie I saw was really really reeeeeeally bad. It was The Astronaut Farmer. Got it from Netflix. I had never heard of it before and it came up under the "you might like this" section. Oohh, lord. It was bad. bleck...>_< nasty taste in my mouth.
