sorry, but i can't even say if reading is dorky or anything else... i read as long as i can remember (except the things i should read for school, but this books are just too boring to bother with) and i don't think a lot of people think bad things about it.
I don't make fun of non readers, but i believe that there are two kinds of people in this world, readers and non-readers and the readers (except for artists, etc.) have more imagination than others.
i do something similar, if an author is just too popular i'm too afraid/annoyed/uninterested to read his/her works, because what happens if i don't like his style or his characters, i don't want to justify myself because i don't like it...
