You probably haven't heard of them in the US, or even outside the UK (and for this I envy you), but the worst rock band ever are undoubtedly The Darkness.
Nickelback are good though ...
I absolutely love this show! I'm in the UK, so somewhat behind you guys. The Hot Troll ep was on a couple of days ago. So very funny. I loved the bits with Katee Sackoff and George Takei.
I searched for this but couldn't find a thread - so apologies if there actually is one.
Finished this yesterday and I'm not too sure about it. It is well-written, and I'm going to read the next books, but for a novel about the eternal struggle between Good and Evil, there isn't much action...
An adaptation of this is currently being shown on the BBC, and I was going to ask what people thought of the book to see if it was worth reading it. I see opinions are varied!
The adaptation is very good, with possibly the rape scenes played down somewhat - I haven't seen anything I consider...
I've read two from the list, Let The Right One In and The Lovely Bones. I'm quite surprised to see the latter in a list of horror. I'd say it's more supernatural thriller. I didn't think King's Dark Tower series was horror either. Or American Gods. Though I have to admit I've not read either...
Hello there. I'm a big fan of China Mieville; I've read all of his except King Rat and The Kraken. I'm patiently waiting for the latter to come out in paperback.
Some great suggestions here - I shall have to check some of them out. I've not read much steampunk, but I think I might be a fan in...
Another vote for Joe Abercrombie here. I was recommended The First Law trilogy in between waiting for the next GRRM book to come out. The GRRM book still isn't out and I've now read the trilogy and Best Served Cold and I'm awaiting the next book.
Best Served Cold is excellent. My dad thinks...
Blink was truly excellent. I'm a huge fan of Tennant as the Doctor.
The writer of Blink was none other than Steven Moffat - current exec producer and head writer of the latest incarnation of Doctor Who and co-creator and writer of Sherlock.
Unfortunately I haven't got Sky so no Thorne for me - which is a shame because I do like the books. DCI Banks was excellent though. I've not read the book it was based on, but would like to. Hopefully it'll get a whole series.
