I haven't read Shadowmarch, but I have read TW's Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn trilogy and liked (and would recommend) that. The trilogy I read is strictly fantasy, but I've heard his other series (Otherland) is more in the genre of cyberpunk. It's supposed to be good though, as is his standalone...
I'm sure there are some differences, as have been mentioned. Some texts are "restored" where bits that were cut in original or previous editions are now included. That's usually advertised though. And then the flip side, where parts were cut out.
Some editions might have more goodies like...
I think my friend has one or two bookcases like those, but a bit shorter. They're maybe five feet, fiive and a half feet tall. I think he wants to sell them. Don't know what he wants for them though. Interested?
Given the authors you like, you might want to check out Michael Crichton. I haven't read many of his books, and what I have read was years ago, but you might want to try Sphere, Timeline, Eaters of the Dead, Andromeda Strain, Congo, Jurassic Park, The Lost World, etc.
You might enjoy James...
I've read Prozac Nation and if it wasn't a requirement for school I never would have finished it. Awful.
I've heard Prozac Diary and An Unquiet Mind are both supposed to be good accounts. Depression and bipolar I believe.
What do you need them for?
I use a post-it. I try to write new words or words I can't easily spit back a definition for if asked on the post-it. They stick just enough to the pages so as to stay put but not damage the pages.
I really liked this book when I read it as a kid, and I really like it now at 22.
As for young adult books, I really enjoy reading them. I've been trying to read Meyer's trilogy, but they've been taken out from the library with 89407548 holds on every copy.
I'm sure I'm judged. I read a lot of fantasy, sci-fi, and young adult, and these are almost always the books that people see me reading. I'm never looked at when I'm reading "good" books. Or maybe I'm just not as aware because I think they're less embarrassing. Anyway, I also use a lot of book...
I love the library. Unless a book is used and very cheap I don't generally buy books new without having read them first (with the rare exception of a book that is by an author I have no reason to doubt). I don't mind returning a library book if I like it because then I'll just buy it. It does...
Well I see some familiar 'faces' and a whole lot of people I don't know. So to those I know, let me know, particularly those of you hidden behind different names, who you are so I don't sound silly addressing you as if I don't know you :p And for the rest of you, I hope you'll all like me as...
