    Does Sex Sell?

One time, I asked my then-boyfriend if he'd like it if I bought some sexy lingerie and he said, "what for? It'll just come off!". He was one of the most sensible guys I've known! :D

    Does Sex Sell?

Sex will never become unpopular, I think. :p Does anyone really believe those Victoria's Secret commercials and ads are aimed at women??

What's your favourite word? And worst?

What a revolting name, it doesn;t exactly whet one's appetite, does it? (we really need a puking smiley here.)

    Does Sex Sell?

I suppose men can snicker over those, but as a woman I find them offensive.

    Does Sex Sell?

Viagra?? what's sexy about those commercials? I think sex is used more to sell products to men than to women.

    Surprisingly Good Writing

There's a tire place near my house that has some really good puns on their sign, they change it pretty often. I can't remember right now what the last one was, but I'll be going by there on Friday and I'll see what they have. They usually make me smile.

    Michael Crichton: Prey

Could it be that Crichton knows he's blinding most of us with science? That we'll keep reading in spite of not understanding most of the tech stuff? Kind of like Joyce Carol Oates-not many people understand her but they keep reading and say she's terrific.

    Photoalbum?

Probably it would take too much bandwidth.

When is a book too damaged?

I guess if a book stinks, it's really warped, or pages are falling out, it's time to send it to the big library in the sky. My paperbacks get tossed when the pages fall out, the hardcovers get more consideration.

Happy New Year everyone! Hope it's a great one for all of you! :)

    The Wolf

I think it's good practice. You think if you get published that every critic in the world is gonna love what you wrote? Stewart's doing people a favor by making them get a thicker skin. ;)

Old Christmas Threads (gifts, well wishes, etc)

Can I be your granddaughter next year? :D

Old Christmas Threads (gifts, well wishes, etc)

This is making me nostalgic. I used to look forward to Christmas for the books I would get-I remember once getting a three volume set in a slipcase of the Tell Me Why series by Arkady Leokum. I don't think my family saw me for days except at suppertime.

    First book you ever read?

I remember when I first read by myself, I was sitting on the floor in my bedroom with a large oversize book, I think it was about the world or something, it had pictures too. I'd been staring at it, trying to read, and suddenly the words made sense. I think I was 4 or 5, it was before I went to...
