    Psychic abilities

I fully expect to return from the pet supply store to find the ball square in the middle of the living room carpet. If that happens, I will take a pill and go to bed. :D

    Parodies-a challenge

Just for fun, why not write a parody of a particularly obnoxious television commercial? Give us a brief description of the commercial so we know what it's about, then write a parody of it. We'll vote on the winner, who won't get a prize except the admiration of his or her peers! :)
  3. Miss Shelf

    Psychic abilities

Shame on you! He loves that ball, he'd never eat it. Besides, I already watched him poop. It wasn't there. :p
  4. Miss Shelf

    Psychic abilities

Hugin-Yes, I have looked behind the couch, under chairs, behind chairs, behind and under tables, under beds, under desks, behind curtains, the basement, the back yard, wastebaskets, yes, everywhere. This is not the first time it's gone missing-last year I found it on the front porch where I...

  6. Miss Shelf

    Psychic abilities

I wish I knew a psychic-my dog has lost his favorite squeaky ball, I've looked everywhere. He's very unhappy, and while I'll get him a new one today, it's driving me nuts not knowing what happened to the ball.

    The Truman Show

going OT for a bit-there wasn't there a Twilight Zone episode about a woman who found out her current life was being shown in movie theaters?
  13. Miss Shelf

    Psychic abilities

I haven't had a deja vu for quite some time, but it's pretty disconcerting when it happens. No matter whether you believe in this stuff or not, I think we need it. How boring would life be if this stuff was positively proved or disproved? If psychic abilities could be positively proven to...
  14. Miss Shelf

I dedicate this to Stewart, who when asked if he thought I could make 1,000 before the end of the year, replied "NO!!". Thank you for the encouragement! :D *smooch*

    The Truman Show

wouldn't it be rather hard to strive to make our imaginary world reality? and if you succeed, would other people be affected by your imaginary world-made- real? This reminds me of a quote I read years ago by Dr. Robert Schuller, "If you could do something and knew you would not fail, what...

    Michael Crichton: Prey

I read Prey and it was okay, I'm not blown away by intricate technological stuff. I did think their security was sadly lacking for such advanced technological research. Frankly the only one of Crichton's books in the last 10 years or so that I've really liked is Jurassic Park, that knocked...

Philippa Gregory: The Other Boleyn Girl

I agree they were slow in places, but it's fairly easy to skip the dull parts. I agree it might be interesting if she told a story from Henry's point of view, but I'm not sure I'd care to read about a man. The English kings have had lots written about them, I'm more interested in the women...
