Somebody better get that law repealed. If the perverts get wind of it, there'll be a rush to Georgia.

Has anybody had the flu yet?

I was wondering if anyone here has gotten sick with the flu yet. It's been several years since I had it because I've gotten shots. But this year my doctor is late offering shots and I'm wondering if I'm coming down with it. I've looked up the symptoms on websites, but I'm still not sure if I'm...

Large book chains vs. small indep.stores-which do you prefer?

You keep your lists in a binder?? Now that's one I haven't thought of. Mine are usually on a scrap of paper I keep in my wallet. Sometimes I forget and leave an updated list at home. I wish it were fashionable to have a notebook and pencil hanging from your neck, a'la Holly Hunter in "The...

    Posie Graeme-Evans: The Innocent

Anyone read this? It's about a girl in medieval England who works in a rich merchant's household and will soon get involved with the king. (I'm about 1/3 through.)

    Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle

I was just looking at B&N.com for them, there is a treasury that is sold out (it was published in 1996). I want a brand-new one, so I hope they publish one again! I loved those books when I was a kid.

Large book chains vs. small indep.stores-which do you prefer?

One small bookstore with a shop in the local mall used to have a middle aged woman clerk who would pounce on you as soon as you entered the store, wanting to know if she could help you find something. A "no, we're just looking" didn't put her off-she'd appear at your side while you were...

    I *miss* Calvin and Hobbes

I agree that beneath the innocence there's always a message for adults who can figure it out. It's the subtlety that's appealing, I think.
  17. Miss Shelf

    okay, admit it...

what do you do if they won't flick?

    I *miss* Calvin and Hobbes

ooh, I'd love to have that collection! I have a couple of books but would love to have the complete set. I don't know. It must be hard to come up with such genius every day or even once a week. If the quality had gone down over the years, we'd have been disappointed and that would have...

    Lost: Season 2

I hadn't thought of that, that there might be other people from Dharma there. This is kind of turning into something like "The Island of Dr. Moreau". If Bernard had gone to the toilet, probably he sat in the first empty seat he could find when the plane hit turbulence.
