The Joy of Science is one of The Great Courses from The Teaching Company. It is an undergraduate level (101 level) review of science (chemistry, physics, biology, geology, etc.). I'm about 1/2 of the way through and I can't say enough good about Dr. Hazen's teaching. I highly recommend this...
Sure
The author essentially chronicals the lives of six lesser-known Americans and uses their stories to tell the history of the ~50yrs b/t the end of the Adam's presidency (the first one, John Adams) and the beginning of the Civil War. For instance, he uses the story of Aaron Burr to examine...
A Nation Rising, by Kenneth C. Davis. A look at the period b/t the American Revolution and the Civil War as told through the stories of six important, but largely forgotten, Americans. It is a lefty slanted book, but very good nonetheless. Highly recommend.

I recently finished this great audiobook. [I]A Short History of Nearly Everything[I] by Bill Bryson. This highly entertaining book examines the history of science, the state of our current scientific understanding, and the gaps in our knowledge (the gaps that we are aware of, anyhow)...
The Gift of Fear, an excellent applied psychology book that was written by a bodyguard for Hollywood stars.

Yeah, it was a bad social model.
Yes, The Communist Manifesto was a poor theory/social model. However, it still is one of the most important publications ever. At the time it was written, employing little kids to work in mine shafts and paying people in tokens that could only be spent at the...
Do you have the link, bro?
Do you have the link, Lovecraftian? I'd love to read it if you do. Hey, are you an [I]Axis and Allies[I] player? If you've never played, check it out 'cause you'll love it.
