I'd like to formally welcome Andy from Social Knoweldege LLC to the site. As detailed in this announcment, Social Knowledge LLC recently acquired Book & Reader.
On 21st April 2008, Book & Reader took another step forward in its evolution as the premier book discussion website on the net having been acquired by Social Knowledge LLC.
For the last seven years I have had the privilege of building and managing Book and Reader, and with your help we have...
I just picked up my copy from the local Borders store today - I know I'm late!
I dropped an email to that library inviting them along to the discussion here if they were interested.
This recently topped the UK bestseller list having been released on 6th March.
Synopsis sings its praises - "Jeffrey Archer's most powerful novel since Kane and Abel, with a cast of characters who will remain with you long after you've turned the last page."
Anybody ready it yet?
I finished...
I think it's the same as Trackbacks - where are you seeing that?
The "new" style is not that much different to the old TBF Classic style.
If you can see the blue bar at the top which gradually fades to white across the top of the screen, then you'll be on the new style.
If that doesn't...
Just to let you all know that the main site homepage has now been updated too.
The forums also now have "Search Engine Friendly URLs" for the forum and thread links. Should help with our search engine rankings and attract more members to the site.
Thanks for the positive feedback. I've still got a bit more tweaking to do (I'm not too keen on the default vBulletin purple), but the general idea is there.
It was the original logo for the site which I've updated and brought back.
No, just the wrong site
Most of this has been completed now, but there will still be a need to close the forums again for a short period in the near future.
As some of you will have noticed, the main style has been updated, and the lost horror threads have been restored :)
Thank you for your patience.
Just for the record (and as per our privacy policy) PMs are not monitored. If a member receives a PM they are not happy about they should forward it to myself or a moderator.
I've already replied to your thread in the feedback section.
What I objected to was your abuse of the PM system asking members to come to your site. It's unsolicited communication - SPAM.
If we allow you to do this for your site, we can't very well turn around and ban new sign ups for...
Lord of the Rings
The first Harry Potter book
The Firm
The Pelican Brief
The Da Vinci Code
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (and the rest of the Narnia series)
probably a few more over the years.
To be honest, it's surprising that print encyclopedias have lasted this long. First the CD/DVD encyclopedias and now the online encyclopedias - just so much easier to search and are updated frequently.
