I really enjoyed this book. It was really moving. If you are interested, the movie is alright (don't be put off by Mandy Moore, she does a good job). The movie presents the story in a different way than the book, but I liked it.

I agree completely with you in regards to Copperfield. The characters are much more important than the plot, as I feel the purpose of the book was to create characters that connected more with the reader, as opposed to just telling a story.

I've read The Count of Monte Cristo (amazing, one of my favourite books) and The Black Tulip. I'm planning to read The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask soon (I'm really hoping the later is better than the atrocious Leonardo diCaprio movei!). Can anyone recommend another Dumas book...

A semi-autobiographical book thats amazing is Sylvia Plath's The Bell Jar. If you want insight into mental illness, thats the book for you.

I've read Running With Scissors and its...something else. Its an eye-opener, to be modest in my judgment. Worth a read though.
