It's a relatively new tradition, but the last couple years I've read and re-read David Baldacci's The Christmas Train. I think I'm going to add Grisham's Skipping Christmas to the list, it's a wonderful little story!
I agree a lot modern fantasy novels can get a little tedious. My biggest pet peeve is the plethora of character names that no one can pronounce. Of course it would be even worse if fantasy characters were named Suzie or Jim... As mentioned by others above, there are other types of fantasy out...
I haven't read too many of his books, but the ones I have read are a lot of fun. He seems to have trouble ending them though. Sphere in particular, I felt, had a very weak ending.
I read Robin Hood Prince of Outlaws and its sequel Robin Hood le proscrit a few years ago. I still remember how I couldn't stop crying in the laundry room of my dormitory when I finished the second book.
I'm not clear if it was actually Dumas who wrote them though... It seems that in Dumas'...
I collect coins from other countries. It's a slow hobby since I've only been outside of Canada twice, and only as far as Michigan.
I dabble in writing, cooking & baking, and I knit when I can find the time.
I've read the chronicles of Narnia many times, in various orders. I feel the best way to read them is in the order they were written. The books seem to flow better than way.
I'm not sure it's fair to ask which series is better... I've always felt The Chronicles of Narnia are for a younger...
I'm 22 and don't read nearly as much as I used to, or would like to. It's so hard to find the time now that I'm all grown up and have responsibilities.
