I'm hoping I'll get to this one eventually...I'm reading It right now.
I think King is one of the best at creating and characterizing his characters, but I have to agree, his endings are often disappointing. I'm hoping It won't be a repeat of Dreamcatcher; I didn't like the ending. I'm not...
I've actually had some trouble getting through King's longer novels. He's an excellent storyteller and has me flipping through pages as fast as I can, but some of his stories seem to grow old for me. Dreamcatcher, in particular, got boring for me around page 500. That said, I'm currently...
I'm reading two books at the moment, but here are the first sentences:
"Once upon a time and a very good time it was there was a moocow coming down along the road and this moocow that was down along the road met a nicens little boy named baby tuckoo...."
A Portrait of the Artist as a Young...

I just...
Just because you can't find any deeper meanings in the books doesn't mean that none exist. Half of the purpose of literature class is pulling your own meanings out of books that the authors probably never intentionally put in to begin with. Don't bombard the opinions of others just because...
I'd have to say Harry Potter too. I've read other fantasy books, but none seem to compare to Harry Potter. People seem to think that Harry Potter can't hold any merit because it's a children's book and doesn't have a complex writing style; but if you just read them deep enough, you'll see...
Thanks for the replies guys! I did take the time to read the first 50 pages a few hours ago, and so far it seems to be a very good book. I haven't really gotten into much actual plot, at least from what I can tell, but something about the way he writes does a good job of immersing me in his...
Hey guys, I'm a new member that's been looking for a forum to talk about books in! I was just wondering what you guys though of Stephen King's Dreamcatcher. I'm actually in the middle of reading the Warcraft: War of the Ancients trilogy, but need a break from it, and was going to pick up a...
