I finished this book not too long ago. It had some interesting insights with an American in Germany as Hitler comes to power. However, I wasn't so enthralled with Martha as the viewpoint character. She seemed to self-involved for my taste. I did find the State Department insights interesting, too.
While I enjoy Connelly's Bosch novels, my favorite book of his is still the first one of his that I read: Blood Work. Don't see the movie, though. It sucked!
I was hooked with the first Harlan Coben book I read. Tell No One kept me guessing to the last page. Then I worked my way into the Myron Bolitar books and loved them for their humor. He quickly became my favorite mystery writer.
I enjoy the Elvis Cole books. Not only do they have good action, I like the humor in them. However, as much as I like Joe Pike, he reminds me a lot of Hawk in the Spenser novels.
