It's not one book or another with the falconer. It's that everything about his character rings false.
C.J. Box's collected works would be better if he could somehow uninvent this "Nate" the falconer.
I see very little parallel to the culture of the U.S. in Atlas Shrugged. The book is a "feel good" story for those who imagine that the world wants more of them than they should give.
And I do not truly understand it, but many of the wealthiest capitalists are also among the most liberal...
Box writes wonderfully of his protagonist, Pickett, and the development of the story line and Pickett's family are first rate...
I do get fed up with the inclusion of Pickett's buddy, the falconer guy (having trouble with his name, just now). The background and development of this character...
I do not care for Lee Child's books. I feel that they are poorly researched, lazily developed, and inelegantly written.
And I write these things because this is a venue for sharing opinions about books, and their authors.
If you like his stuff then you read it. Develop your own views.
But if...
To be fair, I do read some authors who have less than full credibility in some aspects of their writing.
C.J. Box writes wonderfully of Wyoming, and his fictional game warden "Joe Pickett" is very credible, to me.
But there are things that Box writes about ancillary characters and the military...
